7th. Conference Data storage and analysis of the HAWC gamma ray observatory
Resumen
The HAWC gamma-ray observatory on the slopes of the Sierra Negra volcano in Puebla,
central Mexico has recently been completed and entered continuous operation day and
night accumulating about 1 TB of data every day. The data is stored and analyzed on
computing clusters, one at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences at UNAM, Mexico and the
other at the University of Maryland, MD, USA that are linked by a 1Gbps network. Both
sites have over 1 PB of disk storage and close to 1,000 cores. The storage and analysis
strategies will be discussed.
